Ratings Corner: “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils” and “Sunil’s Sick Day”

The return of the Princess of the Night drew many to the show. “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils” drew 658,000 viewers, according to TV Media Insights, making it the third most-watched episode in show history. Combined with Sunday’s rerun (338,000), the combined viewership was just under 1 million. That figure of 996,000 makes it second behind the season premiere. MLP dominated the Hub charts taking 13 of the top 15 spots and 16 of the top 20 this week. The hot days for the show were Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday with three episodes each; followed by Wednesday and Friday with two episodes.

It is also the first time the show has received a 0.4 household rating since the season premiere. All other episodes but one this season (“Daring Don’t”) have had a 0.3 rating.

Hub Highlights for March with Five New Synopses

Hub Network has published their March Highlights press release with synopses of five of the upcoming episodes. Some of them are move novel than others. Now we also have the proper dates for “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils” (March 22) and “Leap of Faith” (March 29), as well as the proper title of the first.

Synopses of all March episodes: “It Ain’t Easy Being Breezies,” “Somepony to Watch Over Me,” “Maud Pie,” “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils,” and “Leap of Faith”

March 1 – “It Ain’t Easy Being Breezies”: When tiny, magical creatures called Breezies get into trouble while making their migration home, Fluttershy swoops in to save them. She soon finds herself tending to their every need, and her kindness may turn out to be more harmful than helpful.

March 8 – “Somepony to Watch Over Me”: Apple Bloom gets the chance to stay home alone for the day, but a series of unfortunate accidents causes Applejack to regret her decision. Apple Bloom must find a way to prove to her sister that she doesn’t need her to constantly watch over her.

March 15 – “Maud Pie”: Pinkie Pie’s sister Maud is coming to Ponyville, and Pinkie can’t wait for her friends and sister to meet and become best friends. But when it turns out that Maud is very different than was described, the girls find bonding with her a challenge.

March 22 – “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils”: When Sweetie Belle becomes angry with Rarity for stealing her spotlight, she deliberately sabotages a costume for one of Rarity’s most elite clients. Later that night, Sweetie Belle is paid a visit by Luna in her dreams.

March 29 – “Leap of Faith”: The Flim Flam Brothers’ cure-all tonic promises Ponyville citizens a chance to be rid of their ailments. Applejack has her doubts about the merits of the tonic until Granny Smith begins taking it and appears to be cured of all her aches and pains.
