Bum bum bum. Well I could have sworn that somewhere it was said that Season 3 would begin in the summer months, but officially it is now fall. On the other hand, Star Vs. is getting a two hour movie special entitled “The Battle for Mewni” that will air on July 15th. Here is the official announcement sent out to the media.
A special two-hour “Star vs. The Forces of Evil” TV movie event will premiere SATURDAY, JULY 15 (11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney XD, and will be available to verified users on the Disney XD app and Disney XD VOD platforms.
Titled “The Battle for Mewni,” the TV movie follows Star as she returns to her home dimension of Mewni where she discovers that magic is disappearing throughout the kingdom. Star must dig deep and challenge archnemesis Ludo in an effort to save her family and kingdom.
Season three of the fan-favorite and Annie Award-nominated series is slated to debut this fall. Check out the press release for the brand new TV event below.
“Star vs. The Forces of Evil” is an animated comedy adventure that follows fiercely awesome teen princess Star Butterfly. Star Vs. The Forces of Evil returns to the airwaves this Monday, February 6th at 7am EST. The show like so many others usually take an extended hiatus during the holiday season, and usually ending right after the Superbowl. Star returns with a little force. While the new episodes will be airing in the wee hours of the morning, they will be airing new episodes four days a week for the next three weeks. This is accomplished by splitting the timeslot in half, as the show up until now has aired as two 11 minute episodes packaged together in a 22 minute time slot. Either way, lots of Star this month, as the train takes off with episode 215 on the 6th and concludes at 222 on the 27th.

Ponies are in the stable until fall. Pet shop has closed up for good. Wander prepares to wander into oblivion. And while Steven U chugs along, its airing schedule is quite random. One ray of hope shines through the morning haze of the summer season, Star vs. The Forces of Evil.
Season 2 begins July 11th and we’ve got the names of the first six episodes, as the show will continue much like Wander (and Season 1) on the 22 minute double episode time slot.
