“Sunil’s Sick Day” Review

The episode begins Mrs. Twombly gets a phone call from Sunil’s owners saying that he is “sick” and will not be coming to LPS today. Since the owners need someone to look after him, Blythe volunteers. Meanwhile, the other pets are worried that Vinnie will explode in anger like the last time Sunil was absent. But Vinnie is appearing to take this day in stride. But soon enough, we find out that Vinnie and Sunil are not speaking to each other and are annoyed that the pets and Blythe, respectively, are talking about the other.

It turns out they had a fight and each one gives their version of events. The events common in both versions was that Vinnie’s over-exuburant dancing broke Sunil’s magic table. Sunil got upset, and then Vinnie breaks Sunil’s magic wand. Vinnie then accuses Sunil of “disappearing” his tap shoes that he used to dance. Russell (aka Detective Cyril McFlip) deduces that the true events that led to fight lie somewhere between Vinnie’s and Sunil’s versions and reveals that the wand is a trick wand that bends. The shoes? Minka “borrowed” them without asking Vinnie just like she asked him a long time ago if that were OK.
