MLP: Explore Equestria Greatest Hits Coming Out

Legacy Records, Sony’s catalog music division, has announced a series of vinyl releases for Black Friday (November 25th) and MLP will be included with a new album entitle, “Expore Equestria Greatest Hits”. Below is a description of the item according to the Legacy press release:

My Little Pony – Explore Equestria Greatest Hits (Hasbro Studios/Legacy Recordings)
Hasbro Studios, the Los Angeles-based entertainment division of Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), announced the release of a new My Little Pony album, Explore Equestria Greatest Hits, just in time for the holidays. The new album, which includes a collection of top tracks from seasons 1-5 of Hasbro’s hit animated television series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, is now available as a special edition Record Store Day vinyl record pressed with colorful Pony artwork.

Explore Equestria Greatest Hits includes 16 original tracks performed by the cast of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s ‘Mane 6’ – Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Pinkie Pie – as well as other popular characters from the series. Each of the songs is produced by Emmy Award nominated composer and songwriter Daniel Ingram.

This will be the second vinyl release after “Magical Friendship Tour” was sold exclusively at Hot Topic in 2014 containing songs from Seasons 1-3. The stores sold both a Celestia and a Luna variant–each with a pair of songs exclusive to that variant.

There have been four soundtracks pertaining to the show, four soundtracks for each of the four Equestria Girls films, a re-mix album, and a Christmas album (with an update). Again, “Explore Equestria Greatest Hits” is set to release in vinyl form on Friday, November 25th.

Fuse.tv is reporting that an expanded version of the MLP Album It’s a Pony Kind of Christmas will be available on October 7th and will be available for physical purchase. The expanded album includes the five songs from “A Hearth’s Warming Tale” which aired this past May.

With each CD purchase, fans will be able to get a reversible booklet with a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Christmas poster.

Pre-orders have already begun on iTunes according to the website. Below is the official list of songs with new entries in Bold.

Well even after we kind of faded out the community features, Eurobeat (Brony) Odyssey has traditionally been a staple here on DHN.  Back in the very early days as the music scene of the community was just being born, we use to feature YouTube embeds of all of Odyssey’s work.  In celebration of the 5th anniversary of ponies, Odyssey has posted up a re-make of his song, Discord.

I’ve wanted to re-make Discord for quite some time now, if only as a reflection of the kind of progress I’ve made as a musician since I put the original together.

Now that today, October 10, is the fifth anniversary of MLP:FiM’s first episode, which predates my first release somewhat, I thought I’d celebrate by finally unleashing it on the world. Video coming soon. <3

You’ve all been the very best fans a musician could ask for, and I’m glad to finally reward your patience.

Hirsch issues Remix Challenge on Anti-GF Sermon

While this isn’t exactly news about the show, it is on the other hand a call out via the show’s creator.  Also the fact that we really don’t post much on Gravity Falls (due to lack of hamsters).  Show creator Alex Hirsch and member of the fabled illuminati has issued a remix challenge on a recently published sermon on YouTube dubbed “Disney, Illuminati, Gravity Falls, Satanic Antichrist Propaganda!”.  The video and actual embed of Hirsch’s tweet is after the page break.  If you read this and actually make a video, toss it in our mailbox.
