Ratings Report: Star, Steven, and Ponies

Getting caught up on the ratings for three of the shows we cover, we see ups, downs, and an asterisk.

Star vs. the Forces of Evil

Going back to the previous Monday, the pairing of “Star on Wheels” and “Fetch” drew an estimated 544,000 viewers on Disney XD. The numbers for this past Monday’s pairing of “Star vs. Echo Creek” and “Wand to Wand” drew an estimated 498,000 viewers making it the third successive decline from the Season Two premiere and the first under a half million since “Freeze Day” and “Royal Pain” over a year ago and just the second all-time.

Steven Universe

The last six episode of Steven Universe go by this table:

These six episodes averaged 1.418 million viewers which is off from the average of the previous six (1.481 million). However, “Gem Hunt” was the most-viewed episode since the opening episodes of Season Three (“Super Watermelon Island” and “Gem Drill”).

My Little Pony:  Friendship is Magic

This is where the asterisk comes in. On Discovery Family, “Stranger Than Fan-Fiction” drew an estimated 250,000 viewers, last Saturday. But that was also the day that Netflix released the first half of Season Six which included the episode in question before the 11:30am ET airing. The Season Six average now stands at 243,846. The first half of Season Five averaged 449,615 with six episodes drawing over a half million.

Ratings Report: Star and Steven

Let’s start with last Monday’s Star vs. the Forces of Evil as it was a slight drop from the previous week. The pairing of “Mr. Candle Cares” and “Red Belt” drew an estimated 560,000 viewers on Disney XD last Monday. We will have the numbers for “Star on Wheels” and “Fetch” next Monday along with the second week of Steven Universe episodes.

The return of Steven last Monday was well-received. On Monday, the duo of “Steven Floats” and “Drop Beat Dad” drew an estimated 1.551 million viewers on Cartoon Network. Tuesday, “Mr. Greg” drew 1.549 million viewers. There was a bit of a drop for “Too Short to Ride” on Wednesday as 1.410 million viewed that episode. There was an uptick on Thursday for “The New Lars” to the sound of 1.532 million. But Fridaysaw the low of the week with “Beach City Drift” at 1.293 million viewers. The average for the week was 1.481 million viewers. That is off from the 1.542 million average for the first five episodes of Season Three.

After a nearly 10-month hiatus, Star vs. the Forces of Evil began Season Two in its new morning time slot. The duo of “My New Wand” and “Ludo in the Wild” drew an estimate 606,000 viewers on Disney XD on Monday. That ranks about mid-table compared to the Season One episodes. These are the first two of 22 episodes slated for Season Two.
